Hello family! I represent the Hightower part the family.  My Great grandparents were Jack and Emma Borum Hightower who settled and lived in the Old Edgefield District.  My grandfather was Curtis Robert "Cutt" Hightower and my grandmother was Louise Moss Hightower (Butler lineage) moved from the Trenton/Edgefield area when their family was young  and settled in Augusta.  My knowledge of my family beyond the Hightowers in South Carolina has been extremely limited. I recently found out through my conversations with my cousin Edna Gail Bush and my introduction to Belle Broadwater Poole of my connection to the Broadwater family. What I have been able to piece together since my father, James Hightower, retired from the Air Force and moved back to the area. has been so interesting.  Now I want to explore my Broadwater family ties and coming to the next year reunion is one way I think this can be done.

Hello everyone,I am the daughter of Viola Broadwater Brightharp.  My mother is the daughter of the late Charlie and Mary Briscoe Broadwater.  She married the late Rev. Robert Brightharp and to this union there were 8 children.  One is deceased - the Late Jesse Brightharp.  I am the third child to this union.  Accompanying me to our Broadwater Family Reunion 2011 will be my husband, Calvin Cooks, children Kerensa Cooks-Henderson and her husband Lonnie Henderson and their children Jonathan Brown and Isaiah Henderson; our son Kelvin Cooks, and our granddaughter Gabrielle Cooks.  We are looking forward to fellowshipping with our Broadwater Family.

Our Family is tangled with The Broadwater Family, We actually share a camp place each year in July and August for two seperate reunions, the Bittingers one month and the Broad waters the next.I am a recording artist K JiG Boone, an unknown artist. I have 30 songs on touchtunes jukeboxes. at this point it is almost nonsence to say it because I make no money at the music thingy.My family plays music and Levi Broadwater was my fathers favorite music instrument repair man. Levi was my Dads first and it seemed most pretcious cousin. Levi Broadwater married Rebecca Noble witch was the two familys beginning but this Levi was the grandfather of my dads cousin Levi. The two family are two close nit Familys with Double first cousins forever. Some how the two familys are close together in relationship and have had this family tie for many many years. My mon amd dad have 7 children my oldest brother Samuel Dale 3rd and then theres me Barry Wayne Bittinger Sr. Michael Aaron, Gregory Enoch, Anthony Silven Tony Van, Meda Janette, and Haven Renard Bittinger. Who now lives in Elizabethton Tennessee, I was just asking Haven if he knew when the Broadwater or Bittinger reunion was this year. So he told me to look it up on the internet. and here i am writing a summery of my familys ties with our other half The Broadwaters. We are from Western Maryland. Cony, Frostburg, Westernport, etc. Our reunions are about this time of year July and August but I don\'t know which is which.    One more thing, Ive only been to one reunion myself, I was very young. My Dad was a fiddle player, Fiddle-n-Sam he was known as. We got to the reunion and he pulled way back to the back of the park and opened his trunk and got out the fiddle and guitar we had and played music.    I dont remember much more about the reunion. except a few came back to listen to us play. Heck Levi Broadwater may have came. My Grandfather and Grandmother was John Samson Bittinger and Clara Elen Burkholder Bittinger. My Dad and oldest Brother had a great suprise when My Pap died and his name was John Samson and they were Samuel Jr and Samuel 3rd.
